Wu-Tang // Legendary Weapons

One thing I've never been able to figure out about hip-hop is how a song's main credit is decided. What I mean is on a song where Eminem, Snoop, and Dre take one verse each and then team up on the choruses or hooks then what makes that an Eminem track featuring Snoop & Dre? Or that RikRok song where Shaggy just chimes in ever so often with an 'it wasn't me' and somehow it still ends up being called a Shaggy song?

If only one Wu-Tang member appears on a Wu-Tang track then how do they know whether or not to credit it to Wu-Tang or to their respective solo projects? Who decides these things?
