Not to say that I'm neccessarily on the lookout for bands that prominently feature horn players, I will admit my ears perk up a bit when I hear the familiar tones of a fellow trumpeter. Rubblebucket (formerly Rubblebucket Orchestra) are a soulful bunch that combine dancier Talking Heads grooves with more Fela Kuti-like tribal beats --and of course the integral horn section only serves to up the whole game a notch or two. It's also refreshing to see acts more and more frequently bucking the trite verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-double chorus formula. Check out their self-released, self-titled sophomore LP.MP3: Rubblebucket - Bikes
