Magnificent 7 in 7

We've done several of these 'clearing out the inbox' type posts in the past in varying formats. This time we're going to shake it up once again and give you 7 mp3's in 7 sentences (not counting these 2 of course).

1. The best of the bunch comes from UK hip-hop outfit Nine High, who deliver the most bangin' track about food we've heard in some time, set to a beat that takes us back somewhere between Biz Markie and Quality Control-era Jurassic 5.

MP3: Nine High - Cookout (M-Phazes Remix)

2. Sure we've blogged about Denton's galleryCat and posted his "Say Say Say" track before, but now his entire album is out and you can download the gem here.

MP3: galleryCat - Say Say Say

3. "I Bought My Wife On The Black Market" comes to us from a self-proclaimed greasy, homeless Sicilian who calls himself Pablo Calamari, and although we're not sure whether we should believe him or not, we dig his quirky mix of ethnic-sounding saxophones and dance beats.

MP3: Pablo Calamari - I Bought My Wife On The Black Market (Club Mix)

4. On "Hipster Crickets" LA punks The Press Fire! claim they were trying to recreate that Paula Abdul remix album but were just shitty at it, but let's face it's punk --albeit interesting punk.

MP3: The Press Fire! - Hipster Crickets

5. When you get big like Brit DJ Don Diablo you get to remix songs before they come out, which is exactly what he got to do with Mika's upcoming club-ready smash "We Are Golden".

MP3: Mika - We Are Golden (Don Diablo Remix)

6. We predict by the final chorus of "Bow Down and Die" by the Black Lips-esque Almighty Defenders, you too will be raising a warm mug of beer into the air and waving it from side to side as you haphazardly scream along to the lyrics.

MP3: Almighty Defenders - Bow Down and Die

7. Gemma Ray's new jam was first described to us as sounding like 'Norah Jones on Amy Winehouse's drugs' and we'd have to say that is pretty accurate --really diggin' that toy piano!

MP3: Gemma Ray - 100 Mph (In 2nd Gear)

And there you have it, the first (semi)successful "7 in 7" posting. Perhaps more to come?
