Lay That Cable

Before I begin, let me first go on record and say that I believe 2009 will be a breakout year for New York DIY outfit Action Painters.


You probably remember the seductively silly faux retro porn promo clip hyping the release of Action Painter's "Lay That Cable" EP that we blogged about a while back. The 3-song EP, out today, was recorded very quickly without all that overdubbing and overproduction that can bog down and delay an album's release. The EP also serves to tie us over a little longer while the full-length (which "Supermarket" will be the lead single of) is being recorded and given the special treatment. Even better news, for a limited time the band is giving fans a chance to download the tracks for free.

The band plans on making videos for all three tracks, but for now enjoy the video to "456" and see how we became so smitten with Action Painters in the first place.
