Canuck rockers Women debut album has been out for a minute already, but as they've recently announced a swing through SXSW (Mar. 19-21) and then a stop here in town at Club DaDa on March 22. Women is a band that is part Velvet Underground, part Zombies, and part Deerhunter, and that artfully manages to ride the divide between noiserock and pop. In fact, this past fall Pitchfork gave their album a 7.9, just 0.4 below Tapes 'n Tapes' storied debut (and they managed it without any help from Clel Tickle).Supporting act at the DaDa show, Abe Vigoda, is no slouch either. They killed it at The Loft a couple of months ago, despite the sound guy letting one of his shitty old amps to fall over and break one of their guitars about 2 songs into their set.
