As most people know (due to the overabundance of tv ads) that Shazam is probably just about the coolest application they make for the iPhone. Out in public somewhere and want to know what song is playing over tha PA? --Bam!! just Shazam it and it gives artist, album name, cover art, link to purchase on iTunes, and link to watch video on youtube. Generally the app works fine, but for whatever reason it will sometimes throw you a random, totally unrelated, sounds nothing like what's on, bit of gold.
So was the case recently when I tried to Shazam the 'Chariots of Fire' theme song (which I ultimately had to remember on my own). For some unknown reason Shazam tossed me this little gem from 1979, and I can't say I'm too pissed about it.
This forgotten track featuring the vocals of Randy Crawford made it to the top 20 on three different Billboard charts back in the day, but like most people what I really remember it for was the Jackie Brown soundtrack.
