MONDAY: Deerhunter/Times New Viking

Kittens grab your mittens.... Deerhunter is coming to town. Three reasons you should get your tickets now:

1 - fellow noise-rock darlings Times New Viking will be opening for Deerhunter. If you can manage to get Times New Viking to open for you, you MUST be doing something right.

2- The band is still riding the big wave of their new album, Microcastle. It's received tons of praise all over the internets ((including Pitchfork's rating of a 9.2 a few weeks ago), and hearing all this great new material live will start the week off right.

3- It's at The Loft (above the Palladium) in Dallas, and I've got nothing but love for that venue. It's great for small, intimate shows, the bar crew is exceptionally friendly, and the wooden floor in front of the stage gets pretty bouncy when the crowd gets into the music. Don't worry-- it's structurally sound.
